What I'm looking for in the 49ers-Packers Divisional matchup this weekend. Most of these are of the practical variety, but I got to get them out on electronic paper! Tackling- From What I've seen in these other playoff games, missed tackles has led to scoring opportunities for the opponents. 49ers NEED to tackle cleanly (ie no penalties), which will also help slow down Packers running back Aaron Jones run game.
O-Line- Will be big in opening running lanes for CMC- Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, and also protecting QB Brock Purdy, allowing him time to find his targets downfield.
D-Line- In stopping the Packers run game, and to harass Packers QB Jordan Love, having Arik Armistead back in the line-up will be a huge help to counter Green Bay's offense. Protecting the Ball- It will be wet at Levi's Saturday evening, so ball control will be key to avoid turnovers that would give the Packers potential scoring opportunities. Same goes on the other side- can the 49ers force some fumbles or snag an interception of three? If the Niners can avoid mistakes, put pressure on Love, bottle up Jones, and protect Purdy, the Niners offense, with CMC, Deebo, Kittle, Ayuck, et al, should feast and see end zone touchdowns, that could lead to at least a two score victory. That is as close as I am going to get on predictions!
